Where do the olives from what you get extra-virgin olive oil come from?

All our olives come from Puglia region, specifically from “Tavoliere delle Puglie”, an area located in the north of Puglia, between Monti Dauni, considered the widest Italian plain after the Pianura Padana. This land is perfect to cultivate our reference cultivar, Peranzana, Leccino and Coratina.


Cosa si intende per olio extravergine di oliva?

Per olio evo si intende l’olio che è ottenuto direttamente dalle olive e unicamente mediante procedimenti meccanici e che presenta un’acidità non superiore allo 0,8%.


What do you mean with “extra-virgin olive oil”?

Through the expression EVO oil we mean that the oil is obtained from olives only through mechanical techniques and that has an acidity no higher than 0,8%.


How long does the extra-virgin olive oil last?

The extra-virgin olive oil, if well stored, might last from 18 to 20 months.


What do you mean with the polyphenols contained in the extra-virgin olive oil?

Polyphenols are aromatic substances contained in the oil, which have antioxidant properties; they are molecules with a high capability to block the free radicals (antioxidant activity), which influence the oil’s organoleptic characteristics, as the bitter or spicy sensation, which are considered to be advantages.


CWhat do the adjectives fruity, bitter, spicy, almondy mean?

These adjectives are referred to the extra-virgin olive oil’s organoleptic characteristics and they mainly depend on natural compounds called polyphenols. Among them, the oleuropein is one of the more prevalent polyphenols in the EVO oil, which brings a bitter and spicy flavor.


How should the extra-virgin olive oil be stored?

The extra-virgin olive oil should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from sources of heat, possibly in a dark place.


What does the term cultivar mean?

The term cultivar is referred to the olive’s variety. In fact, the term monocultivar is referred to an oil obtained exclusively from only one olive’s variety.


How long does it take to deliver the products?

The order is delivered within 48 hours (72 hour for the islands) from date of purchase.
For the European market the order is delivered within 72 hours from date of purchase.

What can I do if one of the delivered products is damaged?

In case of damaged or broken product you can write to our customer service and we will provide to send again the damaged products, with no extra-cost for the customer. The costs of return of damaged products and the delivery costs of the new products are charged to Albori S.r.l.
